Located of 3rd ave in San Mateo. This cafe has that old school traditional vibe. Nothing fancy. No flavor gimmicks.
What this place provides is the best Italian coffee and espresso is San Mateo! This place is a nice cozy cafe nestled with downtown San Mateo. Beside coffee and espresso, they also pastries, a few selection of wraps, and really great panini sandwiches.
This cafe offers a really downtempo vibe. A nice relaxing vibe that will allow to finish a crossword puzzle. Their walls are filled with art from local artist, which is constantly on rotation.
The customer service was great and made me feel at home. This is a must coffee shop stop, when in San Mateo. -

This cafe is really convenient when you're in the library studying. Craving caffeine? Just head up the top floor and get your fix.
Minus one star for employees who are occasionally passive aggressive. For instance, the cashier who was working at 2:30 pm on September 8, 2017, was a classic passively aggressive employee: being unhelpful on purpose; avoiding eye contact; very slight eye rolling and deliberate delay in responding when asked a question; slightly annoyed tone of voice whenever he speaks; very slight eye rolling if the customer doesn't state how they want each variable (size, flavor, room for cream, etc.) to be customized; placing the customer's order at the edge of his side of the counter (and then turning away) so that the customer has to do most of the work to get it. Again, very subtle, but also very palpable passive aggression.
Other than that this place has acceptable coffee and like I said is really convenient. -

Family owned on a main street. Tried as much variety as I could, not everything made on premises, some made by others. All good; any local business usually uses healthier and safer ingredients than what you would get in a chain restaurant or supermarket.

Finally, a new coffee shop opened up on the 3rd floor of the library!
Have been waiting for this to happen for almost a year. Finally, an oasis where folks can grab some caffeine when tired from reading.
The place is pretty nice. Coffee refill stations is on the side. Nice amount of pastries. Nice folks at the cash register. Reasonable prices. And pretty good coffee too!
Definitely will be my new hangout spot. -

Perfect little coffee shop for good quality espresso and cake (and more). Great to come here, away from the chains...
